What next generation system should a RPG fan get?
I have always been behind playstation because of huge amount of RPG’s that seem to come out for it (shadow hearts, Final Fntasy, xenogears),but recently I have been looking at the next gen systems and wondering what is best for a traditional RPG player. xbox 360 is able to put games like Lost Odyssey, but there is always that ever elusive Final Fantasy on the herizon for playstation. So, what to do?
If you’re big into Final Fantasy, PS3, hands down. Square Enix is giving them FF13 and FF Versus 13 exclusively. PS3 will also be getting Last Remnant, and I believe there’s a Dragon Quest game in the works for it as well. And that’s just from one company.
On the other hand, 360 will get Last Remnant, as well, (along with Square-Enix’s Infinite Undiscovery, which won’t be on PS3).
For sheer number of RPG, I’d say go PS3. The 360 is going to be getting some interesting exclusives, but the PS3 will be getting more, largely because the Microsoft doesn’t really cater to the RPG crowd nearly as much as Sony does (Face it… Microsoft is a U.S. company where shooters are king, and Sony is a Japanese company where RPGs rule).
